Why I love Vygotsky

For some time now, I have wondered what is at the core of my education philosophy. It was there, but just out of reach...

Then reading an article presenting reasons for going beyond the classroom, I found it! Linda Lorenza quotes Vygotsky:

'[learners] grow into the intellectual life of those around them.'

Providing opportunities for social interaction in varied communities of practice is the perfect way for students to take risks and stretch their capabilities - vital skills for lifelong learning.
