How do we make the eSpace work for us?

Undertaking the online unit Learning Spaces, I enter the eSpace with curiosity, interest and some trepidation.

As we explore the various learning spaces we are asked to consider our light bulb moments. The interconnectedness of the spaces makes it difficult to isolate each one. It is not until I reflect on the assessment task that I come to realise it is the personal and liminal that drive the learning.

Salmon (2011) provides the framework for effective online learning and as the online cohort completes set activities we develop a strong community of practice. It is this community that cooperates and collaborates to make connections and reinforce the advantages of group work.

Whilst we may have a wish list for the physical space; we can learn anywhere. To learn we must connect. We connect with content and ideas. We connect with previous knowledge. We connect with people.

These connections are enhanced through the eSpace. No longer are our leaning communities restricted. We can connect with learning communities locally, regionally, nationally and globally.

The e-Space permeates all I do. My personal and professional relationships are enhanced through the interconnectivity of technology. As I complete my assessment task, my mind drifts to the next task and I wonder if it is the eSpace that holds the key to supporting learning that occurs outside the tradition classroom.

I apologise for the sound on this video. I will re-voice once I have recovered from the dreaded winter virus...

I have noticed the quality of image depends on the device you use to view the video. Something to explore as I continue to navigate and work in the eSpace.

The video uploaded is assessment for EDFD459: Learning Spaces.
